Values

We are an emerging Christian community of diverse people connecting with one another to build friendships, share resources, nurture our families, and strengthen the global church.
Our community is built upon eight foundational values:

  • We believe that being Real and Genuine are vital to Authentic Christian community.
  • We believe that Mutual Respect is essential to providing one another with a safe place to connect and grow.
  • We believe in the Christ-initiated power of Serving one another. Providing encouragement, sharing resources, giving money, and offering prayers are some of the ways that we look out for each other.
  • We believe in Empowering one another by providing tools and a context to fulfill our callings.
  • We believe in the power of bottom-up, Grassroots, de-centralized, organization.
  • We believe that coming together creates Synergy that allows us to be effective problem solvers.
  • We believe that each Christian is an Essential member of the Body of Christ and has something valuable to contribute.
  • We believe that we should Regularly Meet with other 5loaves members Offline to better serve and care for one another.

5loaves.net is firmly committed to these principles. We strongly believe in the power of God to unite and strengthen us to make positive changes in ourselves, others, and the world. We make cyberspace sacred by using the Internet to communicate love and respect for one another. Inviting friends, encouraging one another, sharing resources and really giving to one another are ways that we practically act out our faith and values. We are compassionate, proactive, considerate people who are committed to living an authentic Christian life.
